Workshop

Quantifying the Impact of Microbiome Dynamics on Antimicrobial Resistance

Informations

This event is aimed at an interested professional audience. If you would like to attend the workshop, please contact Lisa Pagani.

The human microbiome is a complex ecosystem with profound implications for human health. While it provides numerous benefits, it also harbors antibiotic-resistant bacteria, posing challenges for public health and medicine. With increasing antibiotic use, the selective pressure on microbial communities amplifies the prevalence and persistence of resistant strains.

This workshop focuses on the role of mathematical modeling in understanding and predicting antibiotic resistance dynamics within the microbiome. Mathematical models offer a mechanistic framework to elucidate intricate interactions and simulate scenarios that might be challenging to study empirically.
