Workshop

Human Responses to Extreme Weather Events
An Interdisciplinary Approach

Details

Closed event, participation by invitation only.

This workshop brings together natural and social scientists to explore the societal impacts of extreme weather events and the behavioral responses they trigger.

As extreme weather events become more frequent and intense due to climate change, interdisciplinary research is essential for understanding their far-reaching and complex consequences. However, significant methodological challenges remain—particularly in integrating diverse data sources, analyzing individual-level effects and predictors, and conducting longitudinal studies. In this workshop, participants will examine recent methodological advancements, innovative uses of data, and ongoing obstacles in bridging disciplinary approaches. By fostering dialogue across fields, the workshop aims to strengthen collaboration and help shape future directions for interdisciplinary research on behavioral responses to extreme events.
