The renowned economist Gabriel Zucman from Paris School of Economics and Berkeley will present the main findings and policy recommendations of the Global Tax Evasion Report 2024 (EU Tax Observatory), co-authored with Annette Alstadsæter, Sarah Godar, and Panayiotis Nicolaides. The presentation will be followed by an interdisciplinary panel, in which a historian, an economist, and a tax law scholar will be in conversation with Gabriel Zucman. They will discuss the report’s six main findings on the dynamics of global tax evasion and international tax competition and the six recommendations to reconcile globalization with tax justice, one of which is to introduce a global minimum tax for the world’s billionaires.
