PROF. DR. RIVKA FELDHAY

Prof. Dr. Rivka Feldhay teaches history of science and intellectual history in Tel Aviv University. In the years 1997–2003 she was director of the Cohn Institute for History and Philosophy of Science and Ideas.

In 2008 she won the competition for establishing the Minerva Humanities Center at Tel Aviv University. The center will start its activities in October 2009. The center hosts three research projects that intersect the fields of philosophy, the history of science and ideas and political theory.

The projects concentrate on various themes – the migration of knowledge, concepts in political theory, and models of citizenship and membership in multi-cultural and multi-national polities – yet they are all inspired by a similar understanding of knowledge as a dynamic, cross-cultural enterprise.

Rivka Feldhay stayed as a visiting scholar from october 1st until october 17th 2009 at Collegium Helveticum.
