The Collegium Helveticum conducts inter- and transdisciplinary research, and as part of the project «Towards a Science of Music Performance» is looking for a part-time student assistant (time-limited position with the exact duration to be discussed) to join the team as soon as possible as a

Software Developer / Research Assistant (10–20 %)


Your responsibilities include implementing software tools to acquire experimental data from MIDI-based instruments as well as other sensors, and providing easy-to-use methods for simple statistical evaluations. You will also be in charge of creating applications with graphical user interfaces, which will be used to conduct further experiments. Cross-platform programming tools and languages that allow rapid development together with easy maintainability can be chosen according to your preferences to achieve the tasks at hand.

The successful applicant, preferably a student of ETH Zurich, is able to work independently, handle responsibility, and communicate well in English or German. A solid general programming knowledge is required, along with the ability to learn new tools and technologies quickly. Any musical background is a plus. We offer partaking in the effort of a small, international team conducting cutting-edge research in the musical domain.
